The Western has become not only an annual tradition for members of the podiatric community to come together, but also the ideal place for doctors and podiatric medical office staff from all areas of expertise to earn continuing education contact hours, including radiology CECH, for their license requirements while gaining a top-notch education.

As license requirements are always changing, so are we. In 2017 we introduce fluoroscopy units for physicians and again provide digital radiology CECH for license techs in the assistants’ program.

For the 2017 meeting, we have invited some truly dynamic instructors who will present interesting topics in from surgery to MACRA. We have asked back your favorite speakers to bring their latest updates on biomechanics and wound care – you don’t want to miss the point-counterpoint on Sunday on 2nd MTPJ pathology. For physicians needing their 15% PICA premium renewal discount, be sure to register in advance and come early Saturday morning for this standing room-only presentation (registration for The Western is required to attend this session).

Once again, we will offer instructive and hands-on workshops for physicians and assistants for additional training. The doctors’ workshops will cover the unstable ankle, ultrasound, arthroscopy for those beginning and advanced, and flatfoot.

Office staff and medical assistants will learn how to run the office and care for patients when they attend the assistants’ general sessions. This year assistants will join physicians for afternoon sessions on Friday as part of their program.

Back by popular demand, the Thursday radiology course provides assistants radiology CECH, including digital radiology onsite, with no take-home course or test. Registrants will attend the DPM session “Using Fluoroscopy Safely” for full credit. Assistants may also opt to take one or two sell-out labs on anatomy and casting to earn radiology contact hours.

The exhibit hall will provide you with an opportunity to take a break, grab a healthy snack, engage peers, and participate in free raffles. Step away from lectures and see the latest in medical and surgical advancements and a host of other products to aid in the success of your practice and patient care. The Western provides free morning and afternoon refreshments to attendees to keep you on your toes for the duration of the meeting.

The host of the 2017 Western Foot and Ankle Conference, the Disneyland® Hotel & Convention Center in Anaheim, California, is an easily accessible 4-Diamond location with dining options within walking distance. We have it all. Come see for yourself what makes The Western the most successful program and exhibition west of the Mississippi. Register today!
